About the event
Join us for an evening of harp music with Ruth O’Hara, an award-winning harpist and member of the teaching staff at Newpark Academy of Music.
Ruth’s programme moves between classical repertoire, traditional Irish music, and well-known contemporary works, offering a wide range of styles and sounds. The concert also features performances from the Newpark Harp Ensemble, including arrangements by Ruth herself.
The programme includes works by Erik Satie, Hasselmans and Salzedo, alongside Irish traditional music and recognisable pieces such as music from Frozen, The Devil Wears Prada, and Taylor Swift.
Ruth studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, as well as at venues including the National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle and the Convention Centre. Alongside her performance work, she is an active teacher and collaborator, and is involved in outreach work through Newpark and the Musical Memories Choir.
